At Freedom Home Care and Medical Staffing, we use the latest state-of-the-art systems and technology to assist caregivers, allowing us to be proactive and confident that we are providing each client with the proper care in a timely manner. Our top priority is keeping your loved ones safe. To do that, we use some of the most advanced technology in health care available today.
What kinds of home care technology are available and how can you utilize them?
- GPS Tracking Devices: GPS tracking devices are one of our favorite tools to help keep loved ones suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease safe. There are a variety of devices we recommend, but you’ll find our top five here. (https://freedomhomecare.net/top-5-gps-tracking-devices-for-loved-ones-living-with-dementia) They’re inexpensive, efficient, small, and most can be used with any smartphone or tablet to track the wearer.
- Smartphone Apps: This seems like an obvious suggestion, but there are actually tons of apps you can use to log food, keep track of medications and dosing, log and manage blood sugar levels, manage dietary restrictions and more. Our caregivers are happy to help point you in the right direction.
- State-of-the-Art Motion Detectors: Motion detectors and bed sensors can be installed to help keep loved ones with dementia and Alzheimer’s safe and prevent them from wandering. They can also be used to monitor important medical information: bed sensors can detect movement and breathing patterns, alerting you to potential heart problems if the person is short of breath; if a senior is up more in the night, they can even indicate the onset of a urinary tract infection.
