Fall Recipes: Cooking at Home During Quarantine

With summer coming to an end many of us are excited and making way for fall weather, pumpkin spice flavors, and autumn meals. We at Freedom Home Care are also excited, so we have put a list of fall recipes together that we think you all will love!

While COVID-19 is still taking place, we found meals that are healthy for you and taste like fall in the comfort of your own home.

Acorn Squash

The squash is healthy and full of fiber plus, its size makes it far easier to cut open and work with. It can be dressed up either savory or sweet and served as individual halves for the cutest presentation.

To spice up the squash drizzle olive oil and paprika or curry powder. Looking to fulfill your sweet tooth? Brush the quash with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. When you roast it in the oven for about an hour, the squash turns to the perfect texture.

Apple Spiced Pancakes

Yes, you heard that right! This recipe takes a new spin on a fresh stack of pancakes in the morning. Top off the apple spiced pancakes with a sticky, cinnamon-scented apple paste. These pancakes are so sweet you don’t even need syrup!

Chicken Fricassee

This creamy white wine, mushroom and tomato sauce tastes so good that you’ll want to put it on everything you make! It is the perfect warm meal on a chilly fall night. Grilled chicken is this dish’s perfect pair.

The best part about this, besides the flavor, is it only takes about 10 minutes to prep and 45 minutes to cook!

Pumpkin Soup

You can’t have fall without pumpkin! Not only is this recipe super healthy for you, but it also keeps you warm and cozy on a chilly night. Curl up on the couch with a bowl of this soup and your favorite fall films.

We hope you all enjoy these recipes and start off your fall cooking some great food with your family! Follow our blog for homecare tips, in-home care, and all things senior care.
