May was a great month, we had some great weather and so many amazing caregivers! Being a caregiver means so much to our Freedom Home Care staff. You are all heroes to us! This month Freedom Home Care wants to introduce you to Diane. Learn more below:

Meet Diane Hammond, Caregiver of the Month!


Freedom Home Care Hero of the Month

Diane Hammond was born in Detroit, Michigan. She has been in Illinois for the past thirty nine years. Diane has had many work experiences in Illinois with elderly. First, she worked at Saint Theresa Hospital in the Home Health Department. She also worked for a group of four Primary Care Doctors. Her role at the doctor’s office was dealing with their elderly clients. She enjoyed the elderly so much but also want to do more of administrative role and she took a job at Lake Forest Hospital in the accounting department. Her role was to deal with accounts from Westmoreland Skilled Nursing Home.

Overall, she has always had a passion caring for the elderly. She enrolled to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. After she received her certificate, she joined the Freedom Home Care team 4 years ago. She said it has been an honor to work with the clients at Freedom. She is so grateful and wants to thank all of the staff at Freedom that gave her the opportunity to show them and her clients her true passion and love. Diane was married for 32 years. Unfortunately, Diane’s husband passed away suddenly in 2015. She has a wonderful son named Donyai. Donyai is married and she has 2 incredible grandchildren named Layla and Landon. She also is very involved with her sister, brother, and brother in law. Her brother in law is a bishop. Diane loves to go to concerts, plays and putting together puzzles.
